Is Meta Muse available in India right now?

Short answer: no. If you open the Muse app page from an Indian App Store or Play Store account, you won't find it. If you go to muse.ai, the page loads, but you get stopped at sign-in.

Here's the timeline so far. Meta launched Muse in the United States on September 8, 2026, across iOS, Android and the web. Ten days later, on September 18, it went live in Canada. Meta marked the Canada launch with a teaser asking where it should go next. It did not answer its own question.

India has not been named. Meta's line, as reported by Indian tech outlets, is that Muse will reach more countries over time, with no confirmed date for India. MediaNama put it bluntly in its launch coverage: India is not in the rollout, and Meta hasn't said when it will be.

So if you've been refreshing the Play Store every morning, you can stop. Nothing you do on your phone will make it appear early. The switch sits on Meta's side.

One more detail worth knowing: Muse is 18+ on the App Store. So even once it reaches India, it won't be something your younger team members or interns can sign up for on their own.

Meta Muse vs Meta AI: which one do you already have in India?

A lot of confusion comes from the name. You probably already have Meta AI on your phone. That blue ring in WhatsApp? That's Meta AI, and it's a different product.

Meta AI arrived in India on June 23, 2024, inside WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. It launched in English first, and Meta added Hindi about a month later, in July 2024. It's a chatbot. You ask, it answers. It can write a caption, explain GST rules in simple words or make an image.

Muse is Meta's agent. The difference is who does the work. Meta says Muse can open a browser, fill forms, send emails, book things and keep working after you close the app, then ping you when something changes. It asks for approval before sensitive steps like payments or sending messages.

Think of it like this. Meta AI is the friend who tells you how to renew your trade licence. Muse is the friend who opens the portal, fills the form and asks you to confirm before hitting submit. Indian users have the first one. They're waiting on the second.

Is there a Meta Muse India launch date?

Not yet. We checked Meta's launch announcement, the Canada launch coverage and Meta's Connect announcements. None of them gives a date or even a quarter for India. At Connect, Mark Zuckerberg talked about Muse eventually serving billions of people around the world. That's an ambition, not a schedule.

There are a few signs India is on the radar, though. Look at the App Store listing for Muse and you'll see 40 languages. Eight of them are Indian: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. You don't usually localise an app into Kannada for fun. Still, language support isn't a launch date, and it would be a guess to read it as one.

Meta also already has a huge user base in India across WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. That makes a future launch likely. It also makes it more complicated. More users means more load, more languages, more payment rails and more regulatory attention.

On that last point: Indian policymakers are actively discussing AI agents. MediaNama reported that Parliament's Standing Committee on Finance, in August 2026, urged proactive rules for virtual assistants and AI-based interfaces. The same report notes MeitY has proposed mandatory human approval for agentic AI payments. Meta hasn't said any of this is why India is waiting. But it's the backdrop any India launch will land in.
