Catch duplicate and dodgy invoices before you pay them

Forward the PDF to Sonic on WhatsApp. It reads the invoice, flags duplicates, checks the numbers and tells you what looks off in plain.

Spots the repeats

Sonic remembers what you've already paid. Forward a bill and it tells you: "You paid this same invoice number on May 3rd."

Checks the math

Line items, subtotals, tax, the final figure. If the numbers don't add up or the total is padded, you hear about it before you transfer a cent.

Reads the fine print

Wrong bank details, a supplier you don't recognise, terms that changed since last month. Sonic pulls out what matters and says so plainly.

How a real invoice check plays out

Say a supplier emails you a bill. You forward the PDF into your Sonic chat with a note: "Have I paid this one already?" Sonic reads the whole document, checks it against invoices you've sent through before, and replies in seconds: "Yes, invoice #4471 from Novato Supplies was paid on June 12th. This looks like a duplicate." No spreadsheet hunting, no second-guessing.

When it's a fresh bill, Sonic goes line by line. It adds up the items, checks the tax, and compares the total to what's actually written. If a subtotal is off or the VAT looks wrong, you get a clear heads-up: "The line items come to 1,840 but the invoice says 2,140. Worth asking about." You decide what to do, but now you're deciding with the full picture.

Sonic also flags the things that quietly cost you money. A bank account that doesn't match the supplier's usual one. A recognised vendor name spelled slightly wrong. A price that jumped since last month for no reason. Ask "Is anything unusual here?" and it points to exactly what changed, in words you don't need an accountant to translate.

Because Sonic keeps a memory of what you've handled, checks get sharper over time. It knows your regular suppliers, your usual amounts, and the invoices already off your plate. That's the whole idea behind Sonic: hand off the fiddly admin so you can spend your attention on the work that actually pays.

Before you forward your first invoice

How do I actually send an invoice to Sonic?

Just forward the PDF into your Sonic chat on WhatsApp, the same way you'd forward it to a colleague. Add a question if you like, such as "Have I paid this?" or "Do the numbers add up?" Sonic reads the file and replies in the chat. There's nothing to install and no dashboard to open.

Can it really tell a duplicate from a lookalike?

Sonic checks the invoice number, supplier and amount against bills you've already run through it. If it matches one you've paid, it says so and tells you when. If two invoices look similar but aren't the same, it points out the difference so you don't wrongly reject a genuine bill.

What kinds of documents can it read?

PDFs, invoices, contracts and spreadsheets all work. You can forward a supplier invoice, a service contract or an expense sheet and ask Sonic what's in it, whether the totals are right, or what changed since the last version. It reads the document and answers in plain WhatsApp language.

Is my financial data safe in a chat?

Everything happens inside your own WhatsApp conversation with Sonic, not in some separate app you have to trust. Your documents stay in the chat you already control. Sonic is in early access right now, so if you want the current details on how your data is handled, request access and ask us directly.

Does it replace my accountant?

No, and it isn't meant to. Sonic is a first line of defence that catches the obvious problems fast, the duplicates, the maths errors, the wrong bank details, before money leaves your account. Your accountant still does the real accounting. Sonic just makes sure fewer bad invoices ever reach their desk.

How much does it cost?

Sonic is in early access, so we're not quoting prices yet. The best move is to request access now, get set up while spots are open, and we'll walk you through what's available. Early users help shape what gets built next, so it's a good time to get in.
