Yes — Sonic works in your favorite groups: just add it to any group you're already in. Mention it and it answers right in the group — catch-up recaps ("what did I miss?"), decisions and action items, translations, polls, shared lists and RSVPs, and splitting expenses (it keeps track of who owes whom). It can also post one-time or recurring group reminders, including a daily or weekly AI recap of the chat. Members get live web search on every paid plan; they can reply to a photo or document and have Sonic read it (it counts toward the subscriber's daily reads: 1 on Basic, 20 on Pro, 50 on Max), and on Pro and Max a voice note too (on Max, a link). On Pro and Max, a member can also link their Notion as a read-only knowledge base (mention Sonic with "/notion on"), so it answers from your team's live docs. One subscription unlocks the group for everyone in it — there's no limit on group size, and every member can mention Sonic without a plan of their own. Your groups get their own daily allowance on top of your personal one, shared across all the groups your plan unlocks: 75 Sonic replies a day on Basic, 150 on Pro and 300 on Max — the plan to pick for big or busy groups. The free trial doesn't include WhatsApp groups.
In the group, Sonic only speaks when someone @mentions it or replies to one of its messages — it never reads along or chimes in on its own. Any member can also message Sonic's number privately, and that private chat is entirely their own: it starts on their own free trial and, if they subscribe, runs on their own plan and daily limit. It never draws on your subscription. Your personal daily limit only counts messages in your own private chat with Sonic, and the group's allowance only counts Sonic's replies inside that group — so the two never mix, and nobody is ever charged extra.

You can also ask Sonic to reply with voice messages, in the tone and style you prefer, so you can listen instead of read, completely hands-free.
