Get scheduled updates from Notion, Gmail and Google Calendar on WhatsApp

To get regular updates from Notion, Gmail or Google Calendar on WhatsApp, tell Agent Sonic what to check and how often: “every weekday at 8, send me today's meetings, important unread mail and the Notion pages edited yesterday”. At each time, Sonic reads your connected tools live and sends a short update. Add a condition (“only if…”) and it stays quiet when there's nothing to report.

Plan: Basic & Pro · Setup time: 2 minutes

Step by step

  1. Connect the tools you want updates from, once, in your private chat: Gmail with /mail connect or Outlook with /mail connect outlook, Google Calendar, Sheets and Docs with /google connect, and Notion with /notion connect <token>. Each one has its own tutorial.
  2. Tell Sonic what to check and when, in plain words: “Every weekday at 8am, list today's meetings and summarize important unread mail.”
  3. For Notion: “Every Friday at 4pm, summarize the Notion pages our team edited this week.”
  4. To hear only when something happened, add a condition: “Every hour from 9 to 6, tell me only if a client emailed.” When nothing matches, nothing is sent that time.
  5. Sonic confirms the schedule. At each time it reads your tools again, so the update shows what's there now, not what was there when you set it up.
  6. Change or stop it any time: “Move my morning update to 7:30” or “Cancel the Notion update.”

What Sonic can do

  • Run daily, on the weekdays you choose, weekly, or every 15 minutes or more inside a time window (“every hour from 9 to 6”).
  • Combine several sources in one update: your Google Calendar, a Sheet or Doc you link, your Gmail or Outlook, your Notion pages and, on Pro, live web search.
  • Stay silent when your condition isn't met, so you don't get “nothing new” messages.
  • Know when the last update went out, so “since the last update” means exactly that.
  • Skip an update whose only source you've disconnected, and name what it couldn't check when an update covers several sources.
  • Write every update fresh, in your language, in your private chat on WhatsApp.

What it can't do (yet)

  • Change anything. Scheduled updates only read: they never send email, edit your calendar or write to Notion. If an update would need an action, it says so and you reply to have it done.
  • Show an exact diff of a Notion page. It reads the pages you shared, up to the 15 most recently edited, and sees the day each was last edited, so it can tell you what was updated and summarize it, not which words changed.
  • Run more often than every 15 minutes. To hear about new email faster, use a mail watch, which checks as often as every 5 minutes.
  • Post updates from your own tools into a WhatsApp group. They arrive in your private chat. A group can get a daily AI recap of its own chat instead.
  • Read Notion or the web on Basic. Notion and web search are part of Pro; Basic covers Google Calendar, Sheets, Docs and your email (Gmail or Outlook).
  • Send without limit: up to 120 scheduled messages a day across all your reminders on Pro, 48 on Basic and 24 on the free trial.

Try asking

  • “Every weekday at 8, send me today's meetings and important unread mail.”
  • “Every Monday at 9, summarize what changed in our Notion roadmap last week.”
  • “Every hour from 9 to 6, tell me only if a client emailed.”
  • “Every evening at 8, tell me if Dana emailed today.”
  • “Every Sunday at 7pm, list next week's meetings and the Notion tasks due this week.”
  • “Every morning at 9, check this sheet and tell me yesterday's sales total: <link>.”

Commands

  • /mail connect <email> <app password> — link your Gmail, or `/mail connect outlook` for Outlook (private chat only)
  • /google connect — link Google Calendar, Sheets and Docs
  • /notion connect <token> — link your Notion workspace, read-only (Pro)

Questions

Can I get Notion updates on WhatsApp?

Yes. Connect Notion to Agent Sonic (Pro), then say how often: “every morning at 9, tell me which Notion pages were edited yesterday and summarize them.” Sonic reads the pages you shared at that time and sends the summary to your chat. It never edits Notion.

Can I get a daily briefing of my calendar and email on WhatsApp?

Yes. Connect Google and your email (Gmail or Outlook), then ask for it: “every weekday at 7:30, send me today's meetings and the emails I need to answer.” Each morning Sonic reads your calendar and inbox live and writes a short briefing.

Will I get a message even when nothing changed?

Only if you want one. Add a condition like “only if there's something new” or “tell me only if Dana emailed”, and Sonic skips that time when it isn't met. The schedule carries on as usual.

Can a scheduled update send emails or change my calendar?

No. Nobody is there to confirm, so scheduled updates only read. If one finds something to act on, it tells you, and you reply in the chat to have Sonic do it with your OK.

How is this different from a mail watch?

A scheduled update runs at the times you set and can cover several tools at once. A mail watch waits for new email and messages you within minutes of its arrival. Use a watch for “tell me when Oren replies”, and a scheduled update for a daily or weekly digest.
